Dolakha. This year, as in previous years, students from Jiri Technical School have come for an internship at Nepal Agrotourism’s farm. Every year, students from this school come for internships.

The internship will start from 31st of Shrawan, 2081 (corresponding to around mid-July 2024) and will last for three months. During this period, the students will learn about various types of crops and commercial fruit and vegetable farming.

Agricultural internships involve a range of activities. The subjects covered during the internship are as follows:

Crop Management: Working on various methods related to seed planting, irrigation systems, fertilizer use, crop nutrition, and crop harvesting.

Soil Testing and Analysis: Checking soil quality and conducting soil tests to assess soil fertility and acidity.

Use of Agricultural Machinery: Operating and maintaining various agricultural machinery.

Supply Chain Management: Studying the processes of production, packaging, and distribution.

Yield and Pest Control: Identifying and implementing measures to control diseases and pests affecting crops.

Business and Marketing Strategies: Studying marketing of agricultural products and strategies that align with customer needs.

Ecological Practices: Managing land, conserving water resources, and evaluating environmental impacts.

Community Interaction: Working with local farmers, understanding their experiences and problems, and suggesting solutions.
