Lemon cultivation is developing as an important cash earner. Commercially, the height of 100 meters to 1400 meters above sea level where water does not freeze is considered suitable for lemon cultivation. For quality fruit production, a location with 8 to 10 hours of sunlight per day and a temperature between 10 to 35 degrees Celsius and no wind is suitable.
Since lemon cultivation in Nepal is subsistence oriented, the lemon produced in Nepal has not been able to meet the market demand. About 90 percent of the lemon demand in Nepal's city market is met by lemons imported from India.
Nepal Agro Tourism have cultivated leamon in about 25 ropanies land Dolakha district. In which some area falls at Melung Municipality-1 and some area falls at Sailung Municipality-8.This area is suitable for lemon production. The lemons produced in our garden are consumed in the local market. Nepal Agro Tourism is also selling and distributing quality lemon seedlings.
