Avocado is called ghee fruit in Nepali. It can be cultivated up to 2500 meters above sea level. There are many benefits of eating avocados as they contain healthy fats and carbohydrates. Through various studies, scientists have said that it has very beneficial elements.
Although, avocado is found in various places in Nepal, people do not consume it because they do not know its importance. Avocado, which is considered to be one of the most nutritious fruits in the world, has been commercially cultivated in the eastern hilly district of Nepal since a few years ago.
In Nepal, those who are involved in avocado with a commercial mindset are growing its plants in orchards, canals and even along the river. A good income can be obtained by planting avocados in fields, riverbanks or other useless places. After growing avocado, it bears fruit for 50 years, it can bear up to 1000 kg (100 to 500 fruits) in one plant, which starts to bear fruit in 3 to 5 years after planting.
Nepal Agro Tourism have cultivated avocado in about 10 ropanies land Dolakha district. In which some area falls at Melung Municipality-1 and some area falls at Sailung Municipality-8. This area is suitable for avocado production. Avocados produced in our garden are consumed in local markets. Nepal Agro Tourism is also selling and distributing quality avocado seedlings.
